Amaras Espadin Reposado Mezcal
Special features: This mezcal is made 100% from the Espadín agave, which is harvested after at least ten years of maturation in the mountains of Oaxaca. After harvesting, the agave hearts are cooked in earthen ovens to convert the sugars into simple sugars. This is followed by fermentation in pine wood containers, and then a double distillation process. The reposado status of this mezcal results from a three-month aging in barrels made of American oak with French oak heads, which gives it additional vanilla and wood notes.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Inviting aromas of vanilla and wood, accompanied by a hint of smoke.
Palate: Smooth texture with notes of ripe fruits and a subtle smoky undertone.
Finish: Long-lasting and balanced, with a pleasant aftertaste of vanilla and wood.
Distillery/Bottler: Mezcal Amarás was founded in 2010 by Santiago Suárez Córdova and Jorge Rodríguez-Cano. The brand places great importance on sustainability and social responsibility by working closely with local producers and supporting agave reforestation projects.
