Annandale 2016/2023 Man O' Sword Founders Selection - Oloroso Sherry Butt #520
Special features: This single malt whisky from the renowned Annandale Distillery in Scotland was distilled in 2016 and matured until 2023 in an Oloroso sherry butt, cask number 520. With a robust alcohol content of 61.1% vol. and bottled at cask strength, this whisky presents itself in its purest form, without chill filtration and without the addition of coloring agents. The "Man O' Sword" series honors the Scottish warrior and king Robert the Bruce and is characterized by intense peat notes.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: A seductive bouquet of sweet syrup, dried fruits, and a hint of smoke reminiscent of freshly cooked apple compote.
Palate: Full-bodied with malty aromas, accompanied by fresh herbs, ground coffee, and nutty notes of walnuts and dark chocolate.
Finish: Long and smooth, with lingering spice and a subtle smoky aroma that envelops the palate.
Distillery/Bottler: The Annandale Distillery, founded in 1836 by George Donald, is located in southwestern Scotland near the town of Annan. After a long closure, the distillery was reopened in 2014 by the Annandale Distillery Company under the leadership of Prof. David Thomson and Teresa Church. It produces both unpeated and peated single malts and has made a name for itself through innovative bottlings and high quality.
