Special features: The Ardbeg 15 years "The Beithir's Tale" is the third and final release of the renowned Anthology series from the Ardbeg Distillery. This limited single malt whisky matured for 15 years in specially developed, heavily toasted and lightly charred bourbon casks made from American white oak. This special cask maturation gives the whisky a unique depth and complexity. The edition is inspired by the Scottish legend of the Beithir, a fearsome, serpent-like lake monster that allegedly invaded the Ardbeg warehouse and devoured three valuable casks. After a captivating melody, the beast was hypnotized and spat the casks back out, which then floated on the waves.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Intense, oily, and spicy aromas of malt molasses, tarry railway sleepers, and smoked herbs. Grilled apples and raisins add a sweet depth. With the addition of water, notes of eucalyptus, menthol, fennel, and pine wood unfold.
• Palate: Surprisingly balanced with sparkling peat smoke, coffee grounds, and blackcurrants. Fresh notes of lemon balm combine with smoked mandarins and a sharp, smoky spice.
• Finish: Long and layered with fine notes of vanilla and smoked butter.

Distillery/Bottler: The Ardbeg Distillery, founded in 1815, is located on the southern shore of the Scottish island of Islay near Port Ellen. It is known for its heavily peated single malts and has successfully re-established itself since the 1990s. Today, it is one of the most renowned and polarizing Islay distilleries.
