Special features: The name "Uigeadail" is derived from the loch of the same name, from which the Ardbeg distillery sources its peaty water. This single malt whisky is matured in a combination of former bourbon and sherry casks and is then bottled without chill-filtering. With a robust alcohol content of 54.2%, it presents itself in its most intense form.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: A powerful scent of peat smoke, accompanied by fruity notes of sweet raisins, gentle hints of tobacco, and a touch of espresso.
- Palate: Full-bodied and balanced, with sweet malt, a slight oiliness, and a developing smokiness in the background.
- Finish: Long and smoky, with an aromatic depth reminiscent of mocha, raisins, and a hint of tobacco.
Distillery/Bottler: The Ardbeg distillery, founded in 1815, is located on the southern coast of the Scottish island of Islay, near Port Ellen. It is known for its heavily peated whiskies and uses malt with a phenol content of 56.2 ppm for production. Since 2004, the distillery has been owned by Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
