Special Features:

This unpeated single-cask bottling comes from Ardnamurchan single malt distilled in 2017 and matured for six years in Hogshead 244. The cask yielded 311 bottles. The whisky was bottled without colouring or chill filtration at its natural cask strength of 63.7% ABV in 0.7-litre bottles.

Crisp green apple, pear, heather, honey and citrus lead into a richer interplay of pineapple, malt, caramel candy, vanilla and oak spice. Honey and a delicate saline accent shape the finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, green apple and ripe pear meet heather, honey and lively citrus notes, while a hint of vanilla remains in the background.
• Palate: The whisky has an oily texture on the palate. Ripe pineapple and robust malt combine with soft caramel candy, creamy vanilla and citrus, while subtle oak spice adds further depth.
• Finish: Notes of honey and a subtle saline accent linger on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Ardnamurchan Distillery opened in 2014 in the village of Glenbeg on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. All of the distillery’s electricity and heat requirements are met by local renewable sources: hydroelectric and solar power, along with a biomass plant fuelled by wood chips from the region. By-products from mashing and distillation are processed into animal feed on the peninsula.

For this bottling, Elixir Distillers selected the whisky matured in Hogshead 244 and released it under The Single Malts of Scotland as an independent single-cask bottling. The Single Malts of Scotland is one of Elixir Distillers’ core brands; its origins date back to 2002, when Sukhinder Singh bottled his first selected single malt cask under this name.
