Armorik Yeun Elez Triple Cask is a robustly peated, eight-year-old Breton single malt created as a small batch from Bourbon, Sauternes and STR casks. The spirit was double-distilled in pot stills in October 2016 using Scottish malt peated to 50 ppm. In 2025, the whisky was bottled at 57.8% in a limited release of 1,150 bottles, without colouring or chill filtration.

The three-cask composition places sweet and smoky layers side by side: pastry, vanilla, juicy pear and apricot are framed by clove, camphor and a delicate copper note. Peach and crème brûlée lead into medicinal, vegetal peat and eucalyptus on the palate, before fireplace smoke and heather linger for a very long time.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals rich pastry, vanilla and juicy pear alongside clove, camphor, apricot, a delicate copper note and elegant peat smoke.
• Palate: The whisky is sweet and fresh on the palate, with peach and crème brûlée; medicinal and vegetal peat develops into clear eucalyptus.
• Finish: The finish is very long, combining fireplace smoke, smouldering smoke and floral heather.

Distillery/Bottler:

Distillerie Warenghem in Lannion distilled this Yeun Elez and bottled the matured whisky as a distillery bottling. Founded in 1900, the company built France’s first distillery dedicated exclusively to whisky in 1993 and launched Armorik in 1998 as the first single malt from Brittany and France. Yeun Elez takes this pioneering history in a distinctly peated direction and combines it with a selection of Bourbon, Sauternes and STR casks.
