The whisky in this 13-year-old bottling was drawn from casks 1, 2, 3 and 5. Triple-distilled in 2013, the Auchentoshan was finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, lending additional dark and spicy depth to its elegant style. Signatory Vintage bottled it in 2026 at 50.8% for the Monuments of Scotland series. This edition is dedicated to St Andrews Cathedral. The whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured and comes in a 0.7-litre bottle.

Its sensory profile ranges from milk chocolate, caramelised apple and citrus peel through raisins, dates, walnuts and orange to spiced malt, dried fruit and toffee. The long finish highlights chocolate, nuts and sherry spice.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose initially reveals milk chocolate, followed by caramelised apple and citrus fruit. Raisins, dates, walnuts, orange peel and spiced malt then emerge.
• Palate: The whisky is rounded, smooth and powerful on the palate. Dried fruit, bittersweet chocolate and toffee mingle with candied figs and oranges, plum cake, hazelnuts, forest honey and a hint of cocoa.
• Finish: The medium-long to long finish is slightly dry. Sherry sweetness combines with nuts, orange peel, gentle oak and spices before raisins, robust cocoa and roasted almonds shape the finale.

Distillery/Bottler:

Auchentoshan triple-distilled this Lowland malt. The whisky in the bottling was drawn from the four casks numbered 1, 2, 3 and 5 before being finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts. Signatory Vintage bottled it for the Monuments of Scotland series.

The distillery’s history can be traced back to Duntocher Distillery, founded in 1817. It received its licence in 1823 and was renamed Auchentoshan in 1834. After sustaining severe bomb damage in 1941, the distillery resumed production in 1948.

Andrew Symington and his brother founded Signatory Vintage in Edinburgh in 1988. Since 2007, the independent bottler’s entire operation has been based at the Edradour Distillery site in Pitlochry.
