Special Features:

During its 14 years of maturation, this Auchroisk received a 38-month finish in a first-fill Saint-Estèphe barrique. The Bordeaux cask adds dark fruit, earthy tones and tannin to the rounded, warm Speyside character without overpowering it.

The whisky was distilled in 2011 and bottled by Brave New Spirits for the Cask Masters range in 2026. Cask 22074022/2011 yielded 343 individually numbered bottles at 50.5%. This single-cask bottling is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Blackberry, dark berries and plum form the fruity side of the profile. Vanilla and nuts are accompanied by cocoa, nutmeg, clove, further warming spices and fine tannins.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals dark berries and blackcurrants with a hint of caramel and delicate oak.
• Palate: On the palate, ripe plums are joined by cinnamon, nutmeg and clove within a lively, spicy structure.
• Finish: The finish fades dry and balanced, leaving cocoa, wood and lingering spice behind.

Distillery/Bottler:

Auchroisk has been producing whisky in Speyside since 1974. A large proportion of its malt is destined for blends, making single-cask bottlings such as this a particularly direct expression of the distillery’s character.

Brave New Spirits was founded in Glasgow in 2020 and operates its own bonded warehouse and bottling facility there. The Cask Masters range focuses on non-chill-filtered single-cask bottlings with transparent information about age, cask and bottling. For this release, the independent bottler selected and bottled the Auchroisk with its Saint-Estèphe finish.
