Special Features:

Bache-Gabrielsen XO Premium brings together long-matured cognac eaux-de-vie in a rounded blend. It is made from Ugni-Blanc grapes, predominantly grown in the Fins Bois area. The eaux-de-vie spend many years in oak casks, developing the rancio character typical of old cognacs during their extended maturation.

The miniature contains 0.05 litres, offering XO Premium in a small tasting format. The cognac is bottled at 40% without added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, jasmine and iris meet banana and prune. Roasted hazelnuts, candied fruit, almonds and mocha add to the bouquet.
• Palate: The cognac is powerful on the palate, with a delicate rancio note developed through its long cask maturation.
• Finish: The supple finish combines cut hay and honey with wood tannins.

Distillery/Bottler:

Bache-Gabrielsen combines Norwegian roots with its home in Cognac, in France’s Charente region. Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen founded the house in 1905 after acquiring the existing cognac house A. Edmond Dupuy together with his compatriot Peter Rustad. In 2009, leadership passed to Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen, the fourth generation of the family.

As a cognac trading and maturation house, Bache-Gabrielsen works exclusively with winegrowers who distil their own eaux-de-vie. The cellar master selects the spirits, oversees their cask maturation and creates the blends. Oak selection and humidity in the warehouses are important factors in this work. Since 2015, the house has had three additional warehouses in Louzac-Saint-André near Cognac, one of which is used for blending; storage and maturation are therefore entirely under its own control.
