T.Sonthi Barbados brings together rums from the Caribbean island of the same name. They are made from sugar cane molasses and matured in former bourbon barrels made from American white oak. The rum spends an average of ten years in these barrels, without a solera system. The oak contributes to the pronounced vanilla character, while toffee and roasted nuts complement its sweet, spicy style.

The blend is sweetened with 30 grams of sugar per litre and contains colouring. It is a rum-based spirit, bottled at 40% alcohol in a 0.7-litre bottle. Subtle fruit notes and gentle spices complement its soft character, shaped by vanilla and nuts.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Vanilla and toffee lead on the nose.
• Palate: Vanilla and toffee continue on the palate. Roasted nuts, subtle fruit notes, spices and sweet oak complement the soft impression.
• Finish: Soft notes of caramel and toffee linger on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

T.Sonthi is the creation of Thomas Sontheimer, who launched his own rum range in 2020. He dedicates the brand to Caribbean rums, combining its presentation with pirate motifs and historical maritime imagery. For Barbados, maturation in American white oak and the decision not to use a solera system are central; the bottle design reflects the brand's maritime theme.
