This Ben Nevis was distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2023 after nine years. The small batch comprises four refill sherry butts.

Elixir Distillers bottled the whisky at 48% for The Single Malts of Scotland. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. Fruity impressions combine with malt and nuts.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals funky notes alongside hay, nuts, malt and barley.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet orange and peach combine with a malty undertone.
• Finish: The finish fades with gentle sweetness and lingering nuttiness.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Highland distillery Ben Nevis was founded by John MacDonald in 1825. It produced the single malt distilled in 2013; Elixir Distillers brought together the four refill sherry butts as a small batch and bottled it for The Single Malts of Scotland.

The Single Malts of Scotland is one of Elixir Distillers’ core brands. Sukhinder Singh bottled his first cask of his own in 2002 and subsequently selected exceptional single malt casks for the newly created brand.
