Special Features:

This heavily peated Ben Nevis was distilled in 2019 and matured for seven years in second-fill Oloroso sherry butts. Signatory Vintage bottled it in 2026 at 57.1% as Edition #75 of the 100 Proof Edition. The whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Its profile combines earthy smoke with sultanas, dates and plums. Damp oak, leather and caramel lead to cold charcoal, deep sherry sweetness, dark chocolate, pepper and clove; cocoa, spices and a touch of salinity define the dry finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines sweet peat smoke, honey and dark chocolate.
• Palate: The whisky is powerful on the palate, with saline and peppery accents, orange peel and dried apricots.
• Finish: The medium-length, spicy and smoky finish combines elegant oak notes with a hint of orange marmalade.

Distillery/Bottler:

John McDonald founded Ben Nevis Distillery near Fort William at the foot of Ben Nevis in 1825. Since its acquisition by Nikka Whisky Distilling Co., Ltd. in 1989, this historic Highland distillery has continued operating under Japanese ownership.

Signatory Vintage was established in Edinburgh in 1988 and operates as an independent Scottish whisky bottler. The company later moved its operations to the grounds of Edradour Distillery in Pitlochry. For this release, Signatory Vintage selected the second-fill Oloroso sherry butts and subsequently bottled the heavily peated Ben Nevis matured in them as Edition #75.
