Special Features:

The 15-year maturation in a PX sherry hogshead defines this single-cask bottling. The whisky was distilled on 7 December 2009 and bottled from cask 45231 by The Single Malts of Scotland on 8 July 2025. The cask yielded 248 bottles at a cask strength of 55.1%; the whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

The PX cask combines syrupy sweetness and dark fruit with raisins, sultanas and vanilla. Aged wood, dark chocolate, marzipan and lively spice complement the profile before the whisky fades with increasing dryness.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals abundant dried fruit with raisins and sultanas, accompanied by syrupy sweetness, vanilla and light woody notes.
• Palate: The whisky is rich and syrupy on the palate. Dark fruit and stewed fruit combine with dark chocolate, nutty notes, subtle vanilla and delicate spices.
• Finish: The medium-to-long finish begins sweet and becomes increasingly dry and spicy. Bittersweet dark chocolate and a hint of marzipan linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

Benrinnes Distillery stands at the foot of Ben Rinnes in Speyside. Its water comes from the Scurran and Rowantree Burn. The distillery is known for full-bodied whiskies with fruity, creamy and sweet qualities.

The Single Malts of Scotland is a single-cask range from Elixir Distillers. Since 2005, the bottler has selected individual casks intended to express each distillery’s character at a particular point in maturation. Every bottling carries its own cask number and is released without chill filtration or added colouring.
