This single-cask release from The Single Malts of Scotland matured for thirteen years in Hogshead #307104. The Benrinnes was distilled on 1 July 2010 and bottled on 3 January 2024.

Elixir Distillers drew 280 bottles from this single cask for The Single Malts of Scotland. The whisky was bottled in bottles holding 0.7 litres at a cask strength of 56.3%, without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Ripe apples and pears define the nose. Creamy vanilla and malty sweetness follow, while a delicate hint of honey and light floral notes round out the aroma.
• Palate: The whisky is full and creamy on the palate, with apple, pear, honey, malt and soft vanilla alongside subtle spice.
• Finish: The finish is long and dry, defined by oak and delicate spice, with fruit and vanilla in support.

Distillery/Bottler:

Benrinnes is a Speyside malt distillery owned by Diageo. Its cold worm-tub condensers contribute to the spirit’s weighty character. The distillery used partial triple distillation from 1974 to 2007, so this whisky, distilled in 2010, comes from the production period that followed.

The Single Malts of Scotland is one of Elixir Distillers’ core brands. The range dates back to the first cask that co-founder Sukhinder Singh bottled under this name in 2002. In 2017, the independent bottling operation previously known as Speciality Drinks was renamed Elixir Distillers. Casks are selected for the range according to their individual character and released as limited, one-off bottlings.
