The sloes for this sloe variant come from the area surrounding Ballyvolane House in County Cork. After several months of maturation in the sloes, the gin is enhanced with a subtle sweetness that harmoniously rounds off the flavor.

The name "Bertha" honors the dairy cow, which was symbolically brought back to give the gin its unique character.
