Re-Charred Oak Cask Batch 2 is a 2026 distillery bottling from London. Maturation in re-charred oak brings spicy oak, vanilla and toast to the fore alongside subtle fruit; its full body and sweetness lead into a warm, dry and slightly nutty finish.

For Bimber's Re-Charred Oak process, American oak casks are deeply re-charred on site. This renews the inner layer of wood, caramelises wood sugars and creates a layer of char. In Batch 2, this cask treatment is expressed through toast, vanilla, spice and a dry oak structure, balanced by subtle fruit.

Batch 2 was bottled at 51.7%. The whisky is full-bodied and sweet on the palate before becoming drier on the finish, leaving spicy oak and a slightly nutty note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Bimber Distillery in London produces and bottles Re-Charred Oak Cask Batch 2 itself. The distillery uses barley from a single farm, mashes by hand and ferments the wort for seven days in wooden washbacks. It is then distilled in small, direct-fired copper stills. Cask selection, marrying and bottling also take place at the London site. For Batch 2, Bimber combines these production steps with maturation in American oak casks re-charred on site.
