Special Features:

The PX Sherry Hogshead gives this Highland single malt pronounced sherry sweetness and notes of raisins, dates and figs. Dark chocolate, nutty toffee and sweet oak complement the fruit. The whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Blair Athol distilled the whisky on 2 August 2006. Elixir Distillers bottled it on 24 April 2025, aged 18 years, for The Single Malts of Scotland. Cask No. 40245 yielded 254 bottles of 0.7 litres at 47.1% alcohol.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, rich raisins, dates and dried figs mingle with dark chocolate, nutty toffee and delicate spice.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied and rounded on the palate. Sherry and juicy dried fruit meet sweet oak, brown sugar, cinnamon and well-integrated oak spice.
• Finish: The finish is long and warm, with chocolatey sweetness, subtle espresso and a hint of clove.

Distillery/Bottler:

Blair Athol Distillery is in Pitlochry, Perthshire, and has produced Highland single malt since 1798. It uses water from the Allt Dour and unpeated malt. Fermentation of around 50 hours contributes to the nutty and fruity notes of its spirit. Its malt is also a key component of Bell’s Original.

Elixir Distillers has been selecting Scottish malt whisky casks since 2002. Through The Single Malts of Scotland, it independently bottles selected whiskies from different distilleries.
