Tasting Notes:
- Nose: On the nose, it shows fruity-sweet with distinct sherry influences of raisins, dark berries, and dried plums. Along with caramel, fine chocolate, a bit of orange zest, and a hint of spicy oak.
- Palate: On the palate, the whisky feels soft and round with clear sherry sweetness, notes of dried fruits, toffee, dark chocolate, and ripe red fruits. Accompanied by a light nuttiness, malt, and a pleasantly spicy wood note.
- Finish: The finish is medium-long, warm, and fruit-forward with lingering sweetness from raisins and caramel, light spice, and gently dry oak.
Distillery/Bottler: The Braeval Distillery, also known as Braes of Glenlivet, is one of the youngest distilleries in Scotland. It was closed in 2002 and resumed production in 2008. The Single Malt presented here matured for 10 years and gained additional depth and sweet fruit notes through the finishing in sherry casks. Bottled by Osprey, it offers an attractive and characterful experience.
