Special Features: The Bunnahabhain 2004/2026 is an exclusive bottling from the Bunnahabhain Distillery, aged for 22 years. Distillation took place in 2004, and bottling will occur in 2026. After aging, the whisky received a finish in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, which had not been used before. The alcohol content is 53.6% vol., and the bottling is done without chill filtration and without added coloring.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: On the nose, intense peat smoke presents itself, accompanied by heavy notes of date syrup. There are also aromas of dark chocolate and a hint of cinnamon.
- Palate: On the palate, the intense peat smoke reappears, along with heavy notes of date syrup and a touch of dark chocolate.
- Finish: The finish is smoky and leaves a lingering sensation in the mouth.
Distillery/Bottler: The Bunnahabhain Distillery was founded in 1881 and is the northernmost distillery on the Isle of Islay. It is known for its maritime single malts and produces both peated and unpeated whiskies. This bottling represents a special edition created exclusively for the German market. The bottler is SPRITHÖKER GmbH, which distributes this special creation.
