Special Features:

This Bunnahabhain spent its entire thirteen-year maturation in a single first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead. It was distilled on 11 February 2013, and Best Dram bottled cask 900066 on 23 April 2026 at 56.9%, yielding a total of 333 bottles. The whisky is non-chill-filtered, contains no added colouring and comes in a 0.7-litre bottle.

The Oloroso maturation shapes the profile with old sherry, ripe plums, dark raisins and nuts. Leather, antique oak, maritime freshness and peach add further accents, while malt, intense chocolate and spicy oak define the more powerful side of the palate. A subtle smoky note remains as a nuance in the finish.

• Nose: The nose combines ripe plums and dark raisins with roasted hazelnuts and a pronounced sherry character.
• Palate: On the palate, powerful malt and intense chocolate meet the concentrated sweetness of the Oloroso cask, while prominent oak gives the whisky a distinctly spicy structure.
• Finish: The finish is medium-long to long and fades harmoniously with oak, hazelnut, dark fruit and a subtle smoky nuance.

Bunnahabhain produced this Islay single malt; Best Dram independently bottled the whisky as a single-cask release after its thirteen-year maturation in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead. Best Dram is one of the ranges from independent bottler Michel Reick, who releases single-cask bottlings without chill filtration or added colouring.

Bunnahabhain Distillery was founded in 1881 together with its workers’ village on Islay’s remote north-east coast and began production in 1883. Its traditional house style is predominantly unpeated, robust, complex and oily.
