Distillery/Bottler:

The Old Bushmills Distillery is located in the village of Bushmills in County Antrim and produces the single malt used in Bushmills Original. The history of whiskey production in the region is closely linked to the River Bush and the grain mills that once stood along its banks. In 1608, Sir Thomas Phillipps was granted permission to distil and sell spirits in the region; this regional licence provides the brand's historical reference point.

The distillery uses malted barley for its single malt and distils it three times in copper pot stills. The malt component thus retains its connection to Bushmills' production methods within the blend, complemented by lighter grain whiskey.
