Special Features:
This twelve-year-old Speyside single malt from Cadenhead's Original Collection was matured entirely in bourbon hogsheads. The whisky was distilled in 2013 and bottled in May 2026 at 46%. The release contains 0.7 litres, is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
Its bright, fresh Speyside character combines lemongrass and herbs with cooked pear, shortbread and gooseberry. Caramelised brown sugar leads into a creamy, sweet final phase with vanilla, crème brûlée and pistachio.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose reveals lemongrass and herbs, accompanied by sherbet and cooked pear.
- Palate: On the palate, shortbread and gooseberry combine with caramelised brown sugar.
- Finish: The finish is creamy and sweet, with notes of vanilla pods, icing sugar, crème brûlée and pistachios.
Distillery/Bottler:
The whisky was distilled at Glenlossie in 2013 and then matured for twelve years in bourbon hogsheads. Cadenhead's bottled it in May 2026 at 46%.
Glenlossie uses a purifier at the junction between the lyne arm and the condenser. Rather than allowing all the alcohol vapours to pass directly into the condenser, it redirects some of them through the distillation process. The resulting increase in reflux promotes a lighter, more delicate spirit.
Cadenhead's was founded in Aberdeen in 1842. The Campbeltown company J & A Mitchell acquired the business in 1972, and the independent bottler continues to focus on cask releases selected in-house.
