This 17-year-old rum from Panama belongs to Cadenhead's Green Label Rum range and was released in May 2024. It was distilled in 2006. The range includes rums from different countries and of different ages, with their origin shown on the front label. Cadenhead's bottles them at 46%, without added colouring, chill filtration or added sugar.

Fruit, creamy dessert notes and spice form this bottling's characteristic combination. Apple and pastry notes run from the nose through to the palate, while the finish brings different accents of cinnamon, citrus fruit, apricot and oak.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is very sweet, recalling freshly pressed apples, rhubarb crumble and candy floss.
• Palate: The rum feels elegant and creamy on the palate. Butterscotch, buttercream and apple strudel define the flavour.
• Finish: The finish combines cinnamon and icing sugar with zesty orange juice, apricots and oak.

Distillery/Bottler:

Wm Cadenhead was founded in Aberdeen in 1842 and now operates in Campbeltown as an independent bottler. In the early 20th century, Robert Duthie, a nephew of William Cadenhead, expanded the rum business. J. & A. Mitchell acquired the company in 1972; following Hedley Wright's death, ownership passed to three trusts in 2023.

Cadenhead's sources rum casks from different countries and allows its stocks to mature further in Campbeltown before the rums are bottled there. The company uses a limited number of casks for each bottling, and its range also includes single-cask bottlings. Cadenhead's handles the selection and bottling of the Panamanian Green Label Rum.
