For Festive Cask 2025, Callington Mill combines single malt from selected sherry and port casks. Bottled at 46%, the whisky is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Its festive flavour profile combines Christmas pudding and candied orange peel with toffee, spicy red wine, dark chocolate and espresso. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in a premium box.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals spiced sultanas, marzipan and dried plums. Steamed Christmas pudding contributes ripe fruit and orange zest, while warm brandy butter and baked apple round out the impression.
• Palate: A bold wave of dried fruit opens the palate before giving way to dry, spicy oak. Dark raisins, candied citrus peel, nutmeg and a hint of brandy cream are balanced by gently bitter tannins.
• Finish: The long finish begins with jam-like sweetness and an oily mouthfeel, then fades with a medium-dry character and festive spice. Mature tobacco and warm fruitcake notes linger at the end.

Distillery/Bottler:

Callington Mill Distillery is a family business owned by the Ibrahim and Nicolas families. The modern distillery was built in 2021 on the restored mill site in Oatlands. It takes its name from the historic windmill commissioned there by entrepreneur John Vincent in 1837.

The distillery makes its single malts from water, malted barley and yeast. The water comes from the nearby Blackman River, while fermentation lasts an unusually long seven days. Its own Callington Mill Cooperage sources and crafts the oak casks in which the single malts mature. The cask programme focuses on former fortified-wine casks from the Douro Valley, the Sherry Triangle and Australia.
