Special Features:

The 34-year maturation began in a refill barrel and ended with a finish in a rum cask. Distilled at Cambus in September 1990, the whisky was bottled by Master of Malt in August 2025 as a single cask in the Masterpiece Collection; Sam Simmons personally selected it.

The release is limited to 259 bottles of 0.7 litres each, and the whisky has an alcohol content of 47.2%. It contains no added colouring and is non-chill-filtered. Its profile combines fresh and tropical fruit with sweet pastries, candied nuts, mature wood, leather and wax.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose initially reveals fresh fruit salad, browned-butter biscuits, pancakes with maple syrup and candied nuts. Waffles, waxy citrus notes, fresh leather and polished oak emerge over time.
• Palate: The palate is fruity and citrusy, accompanied by mature oak and gentle sweetness. Waffles, honey, fresh melon and a hint of lychee give way to buttery caramel sweets and fudge, complemented by drying spices.
• Finish: The finish combines leather, oak and cigar-box spice with alcohol-accented fruit compote, butter biscuits and beeswax.

Distillery/Bottler:

Cambus began as a malt distillery in 1806. In 1836, the operation switched to grain production using Stein patent stills. After a major fire in 1914, the Lowland distillery resumed production in 1937 before closing permanently in 1993.

Master of Malt released this Cambus as an independent bottler within the Masterpiece Collection. The whisky itself matured for 34 years, initially in a refill barrel and then with a finish in a rum cask; 259 bottles were filled in 2025.
