Raspberry takes centre stage in this Crème de Framboise. Joseph Cartron uses selected fruit of the Lloyd George and Héritage varieties. For its fruit crèmes, the house processes fruit harvested at full ripeness and balances fruit, high-purity alcohol and sugar to bring out each fruit's distinctive flavour.

The liqueur has a cherry-ruby colour in the glass and combines pronounced fruit with a rounded texture. It contains 18% alcohol and is offered here in a 0.7-litre bottle. Crème de Framboise is suitable for cocktails, such as a Cartron Raspberry Crush. The house's fruit crèmes can also be used to enhance desserts and pastries.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers expressive aromas of fresh, ripe raspberries. The fruit aroma is clear, delicate and fresh, recalling the first bite into a ripe berry.
• Palate: On the palate, the liqueur opens softly with concentrated flavour. Its rounded texture carries a dense raspberry flavour that remains delicate despite its concentration.
• Finish: The finish lasts a long time and remains fruit-led. No pronounced sweetness emerges at the end; raspberry flavour retains the upper hand.

Distillery/Bottler:

Joseph Cartron founded his house in 1882 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Burgundy. Five generations later, Judith Cartron carries on the family tradition. The connection to the region is also reflected in the choice of fruit: the fruit crèmes use, among others, Noir de Bourgogne blackcurrants and vineyard peaches from the slopes of Burgundy. Selecting aromatic varieties, harvesting at full ripeness and balancing fruit, alcohol and sugar are central decisions in the production of these liqueurs.
