Special features: This single malt whiskey is made from 100% malted winter wheat and aged in lightly charred American oak barrels for at least two years. This aging gives it a delicate yet expressive flavor note.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromas of honey, floral notes, and a distinct grain scent with herbal accents.
- Palate: Dry taste with dominant wheat notes, accompanied by hay, grass, and a hint of caramel and toffee.
- Finish: Moderate finish with light cocoa notes, vanilla, orange peel, and oak.
Distillery/Bottler: The Cedar Ridge Distillery, founded in 2005 by Jeff and Laurie Quint, is the first micro-distillery in Iowa. It started with vodka distillation and later gained fame with its bourbon, the first since Prohibition in Iowa. The family places great importance on quality and authenticity, which is reflected in each of their products.
