The 2025 Paris Edition connects Tokyo and Paris through six colourful labels inspired by postage stamps and Japanese kawaii culture. Ginza and the Champs-Élysées form one of three neighbourhood pairings. The limited edition comprises 2,484 bottles.

The cuvée brings together whiskies aged five to fourteen years from 17 casks: four new French oak casks, one Spanish ex-Sherry cask, three French ex-Bordeaux casks, one American oak hogshead, six Bourbon barrels and two Bourbon barrels that had previously held heavily peated whisky.

The whisky is lightly peated, with the peat emerging clearly on the palate while remaining integrated into a broad profile of tropical fruit, malt, wax and earthy notes. Fresh herbs, toffee and Bourbon vanilla characterise the long finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is rich and velvety. Passion fruit, lychee, grapes and dark berries such as blackberries sit above a slightly bitter malt note, while cinnamon, dry leaves, porcini mushrooms and prunes add earthy, mature depth.
• Palate: The whisky feels oily on the palate, initially showing powerful peat, lemon and pepper. Honey and wax lead into an increasingly creamy texture before toasted bread, rusks, barley porridge, mirabelle plum and damson emerge.
• Finish: The finish is long and concentrated, with recurring malt notes. Gentian, mint, eucalyptus and sage bring freshness, while passion fruit, candied plum, toffee and Bourbon vanilla round out the lingering flavours.

Distillery/Bottler:

Ichiro Akuto founded Venture Whisky Ltd. in 2004 and launched Ichiro's Malt in 2005. The Chichibu Distillery began operating in Saitama Prefecture in 2008. The distillery takes advantage of Chichibu’s pronounced climatic conditions during maturation and uses equipment that includes washbacks made from Japanese Mizunara oak. Since 2018, Chichibu has composed an annual cuvée dedicated to the city of Paris; these releases include the 2025 Paris Edition, assembled from 17 casks. Venture Whisky Ltd. bottled this official release for La Maison du Whisky.
