Special Features:

A finish in casks previously used for Coloma Coffee Liqueur gives this rum its distinctive coffee note. It is made from sugar cane molasses derived from two sugar cane varieties. The rum matures for eight years in American oak bourbon casks being used for rum maturation for the first time. It then spends two months in the coffee liqueur casks, which shape its gentle mocha and roasted coffee notes.

After blending, the rum is brought to drinking strength with spring water from the Andes and filtered through coffee filters. In the glass, it has a light brown colour with subtle copper highlights. This bottling contains 40% alcohol and comes in a 0.7-litre bottle with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, delicate vanilla and mocha notes mingle with coffee and subtle woody aromas.
• Palate: The rum feels rounded and smooth on the palate. Vanilla, mocha and lightly roasted coffee combine with almond notes for a balanced flavour.
• Finish: The finish is soft, rounded and creamy. Coffee and mocha linger before gradually fading.

Distillery/Bottler:

Hacienda Coloma lies in Fusagasugá, Colombia, at an altitude of around 1,700 metres. Its colonial house dates from the late 19th century. The connection with coffee goes beyond a flavour note: ageing the estate's own coffee liqueur in oak casks inspired the distinctive finish used for Coloma rums.

Colombian master blenders Judith Ramírez and Sandra Reátegui developed the brand's rums and are responsible for blending the eight-year-old Coloma. Their approach combines extended oak-cask maturation with subsequent finishing in coffee liqueur casks.
