Special Features:

Chocolate character takes centre stage in Compañero Extra Añejo. This rum-based spirit comes from Panama; its base rum is distilled from molasses in a column still and aged for twelve years in former bourbon casks. Casks treated with cocoa are used for the final maturation phase. The miniature contains 0.05 litres at 54% alcohol and comes without gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Dark chocolate dominates the nose. Warm notes of cream accompany it, while citrus fruit adds a subtle accent.
• Palate: The initial impression on the palate is soft and smooth despite the high alcohol strength. Cocoa, milk chocolate and vanilla shape the flavour, accompanied by cream toffees and caramel. A little orange remains in the background behind the pronounced chocolate notes. A light woody note emerges towards the end of the palate.
• Finish: The finish is creamy, combining lingering sweetness with delicate spice.

Compañero belongs to the Danish company 1423 World Class Spirits. Founded in 2008 as a hobby project, the business grew into a spirits company with a particular focus on rum. The brand name means companion in Spanish. Under this name, 1423 brings together different bottlings from Jamaica, Trinidad and Panama, including rum, rum-based spirits and liqueurs.
