Special features: The first single malt whiskey from the Connacht Distillery marks the return of a whiskey from County Mayo after 150 years. The whiskey is based on Irish barley from County Wexford, grown in close collaboration with local farmers. After a double distillation in copper pot stills, the whiskey matured for about four years in former bourbon barrels, followed by a finish in large 500-liter sherry casks. Batch 1 was selected from the best barrels, some of which are nearly five years old and date back to the early days of the distillery.

• Nose: Raisins, dried fruits, honey sweetness, butterscotch, star anise
• Palate: Vanilla, spicy notes, dried fruits, malt
• Finish: Long-lasting with walnut and honey
