Convalmore 1982/2022 G&M PC

Special features: This 40-year-old single malt whisky was distilled on January 21, 1982, at the closed Convalmore distillery in Speyside and matured in a refill American hogshead (cask number 155). It was bottled on March 1, 2022, by Gordon & MacPhail as part of the prestigious "Private Collection" series. With a limited edition of only 104 bottles and a robust alcohol content of 55.5% vol., this whisky is presented at its natural cask strength, without chill filtration and without the addition of colorants.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Rich vanilla aromas, accompanied by fresh green apples and a delicate orange peel. Over time, notes of honeysuckle, quince, and roasted walnuts develop.
  • Palate: Sweet exotic fruits combine with poached pear and floral accents. White chocolate emerges, accompanied by baked apple.
  • Finish: A medium-length, creamy finish with hints of guava and sweet honey.

Distillery/Bottler: The Convalmore distillery was founded in 1893 and primarily produced malt whisky for blends until its closure in 1985. It no longer exists today, and the name is held by Diageo. Gordon & MacPhail is an independent bottler known for its careful selection and bottling of rare and old whiskies.
