Special Features:

Coole Swan brings together single malt Irish whiskey, fresh Irish cream and white Belgian chocolate. The chocolate is gently melted and blended into the cream. Cocoa from Côte d’Ivoire and Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar complete the mixture. The liqueur contains no colouring; its pale colour comes from its ingredients.

The bottle shape takes its inspiration from 19th-century Irish milk bottles. Coole Swan comes at 16% alcohol in a bottle containing 0.7 litres. It can be enjoyed chilled on its own or over ice, and also works in cocktails. Once opened, the bottle should be refrigerated and its contents consumed within six months.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Fresh cream and white chocolate lead the nose. Behind them are vanilla and cocoa, with hints of nutmeg and nutty nougat.
• Palate: The liqueur feels creamy and distinctly chocolatey on the palate, while the whiskey stays in the background. Cream and vanilla combine with impressions of vanilla buttercream and caramel apple.
• Finish: Malty and creamy chocolate notes linger on the finish. As the cream and chocolate slowly fade, a gentle whiskey warmth remains.

Distillery/Bottler:

Coole Swan is led by CEO Mary Sadlier and her husband Philip Brady, who heads operations. The recipe was finalised after 231 trials. Individual batches are blended in County Cavan, Ireland, while the cream comes from the family farm in the Boyne Valley in County Meath.

The name refers to William Butler Yeats’ poem The Wild Swans at Coole and to Coole Park in County Galway. The small landscape motif on the bottle also reflects this connection: it depicts an artistic interpretation of the lake there.
