Cotswolds Highgrove Evergreen Whisky - Ex-Red Wine & Bourbon Casks

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 46% | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No

Special Features:

With Highgrove Evergreen, the concept behind the edition begins with its raw material: the historic Plumage Archer barley variety comes from the Highgrove Estate. The single malt matures in bourbon casks and STR-treated ex-red-wine casks. Its character combines honeyed malt and orchard fruit with red berries, toasted oak and gentle spice.

The gift box features “A View from the Wildflower Meadow”, a Highgrove scene painted by King Charles III in 1995. The whisky is bottled at 46% in a 0.7-litre bottle, with no added colouring and without chill filtration.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Honeyed malt and ripe orchard fruit define the nose, complemented by vanilla and delicate spice.
• Palate: Red berries and toasted oak mingle with gentle spice on the palate. Juicy peach, creamy caramel and vanilla round out the flavour profile.
• Finish: A rich yet mellow impression carries through the finish, with delicate orange peel and spicy depth lingering in harmony.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Cotswolds Distillery opened its doors in July 2014. Its founder, Dan, transformed a disused site into a distillery; in October 2017, Cotswolds Signature Single Malt was released as the first whisky distilled in the Cotswolds.

Highgrove Evergreen is an original bottling and part of the ongoing collaboration between the Cotswolds Distillery and Highgrove. The Highgrove Estate grows the edition-specific Plumage Archer barley, while the Cotswolds Distillery uses it to make and mature the whisky.
