Courvoisier VSOP brings together eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois. Blending these four growing areas combines ripe stone fruit with a pronounced floral character. The blend also includes eaux-de-vie matured for up to twelve years.

Peach and toasted almonds are part of its aromatic signature. Distillation on the lees contributes fruity and jasmine-like notes to the VSOP. Several years of maturation in tight-grained French oak develop nutty, sweetly toasted accents.

This Cognac can be enjoyed neat or used in cocktails. Its floral, nutty character also pairs well with Brie. This official bottling contains 0.7 litres at 40% alcohol and comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Aromas of ripe stone fruit unfold on the nose.
• Palate: A soft, floral jasmine note takes centre stage on the palate.

Distillery/Bottler:

Félix Courvoisier founded the house in 1828 in Jarnac, in France’s Cognac region. Its historic connection to the French imperial court received official recognition in 1869, when Napoléon III appointed Courvoisier as a supplier to the court.

Courvoisier works primarily with four of the six Cognac crus. After pressing, the grape juice ferments into wine over approximately seven days. The house uses small stills with a capacity of 25 hectolitres for double distillation; only the heart of the distillate is used for the Cognac.

Courvoisier selects French oak with different growth-ring structures for its casks. The wood dries naturally before coopers craft it into casks. This selection combines the more delicate vanilla notes of tight-grained oak with spice and richness from wider-grained wood.
