A finish of more than three years in Oloroso sherry casks defines this independent bottling. The whisky was distilled at Craigellachie in 2008, initially matured in bourbon hogsheads and bottled by Murray McDavid after a total of 14 years. Released in 2022, this Benchmark edition comprises 695 bottles.
Its profile combines toasted malt, mocha and poached pear with dried fruit, figs, spices and Demerara sugar. Sweet spices and fruitcake linger into the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:
Craigellachie began production in 1891. Located between Rothes and Dufftown, the Speyside distillery uses traditional worm tubs, which contribute to its robust, meaty distillery character. It produced the malt for this bottling, while Murray McDavid was responsible for the Oloroso finish and independent bottling.
The Benchmark range forms the core of Murray McDavid’s portfolio and highlights the bottler’s cask work through finished single malts. At the former Coleburn Distillery site in Speyside, Murray McDavid further matures whisky in selected oak casks from a variety of origins.
