Special Features:

This single-cask bottling combines Craigellachie’s robust Speyside style with the dark influence of a 1st-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead. The 17-year-old single malt was distilled on 6 April 2009 and bottled from cask no. 900262 on 25 May 2026. The hogshead yielded 319 bottles.

The whisky was bottled at cask strength at 61.7%. It has no added colouring and is non-chill-filtered. Neat, it displays its concentrated structure; a few drops of water can further open up the layered sherry notes.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines dark fruits and orange peel with cocoa.
• Palate: On the palate, dark chocolate and toffee meet warm baking spices, toasted walnuts and a pronounced mineral note; the texture is oily.
• Finish: The finish is long, spicy and bitter-edged.

Distillery/Bottler:

Craigellachie is located in Banffshire, in the heart of Speyside, between Rothes and Dufftown and above the confluence of the Fiddich and Spey. Designed by Charles Doig, the distillery was built in 1890 by a consortium led by Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie; production began in 1891.

Craigellachie still condenses its alcohol vapour in traditional worm tubs: long copper pipes run through tanks of cold water, returning the vapour to a liquid state. This elaborate method contributes to the distillate’s robust, meaty underlying character.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. Its first bottling, a 1968 Glenlivet, quickly sold out. Andrew Symington acquired Edradour Distillery in 2002, and by 2007 Signatory’s entire operation had moved to its site in Pitlochry. As the independent bottler of this Craigellachie, Signatory Vintage selected and bottled the single cask no. 900262.
