Special Features:

Cruzloma combines the classic juniper base of a London Dry Gin with botanicals from the Andes and the Amazon region. These include coca leaves and guayusa, complemented by European and Asian spices. It is produced in small batches right on the equator.

A sugarcane distillate provides the alcohol base. After distillation, volcanic spring water is added to bring the gin to 44%. Its juniper-led character combines citrus freshness with herbs and spices. The matt black bottle contains 0.7 litres.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Ripe limes and lemons emerge on the nose, accompanied by a mild spicy note.
• Palate: The gin is full-bodied and soft on the palate. Delicate spice combines with fresh herbs and citrus fruit.
• Finish: The long finish remains silky and soft, with a light peppery note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Cruzloma is produced by Urkanqa Destilería Cia. Ltda. in Quito, Ecuador. The distillery makes the gin by hand, using a process that includes macerating the botanicals before distilling them. Andean coriander and a deliberately small addition of rosemary are part of the recipe.

The name recalls Cruz Loma on the Pichincha volcano near Quito. The area is associated with the battle of 24 May 1822, which was decisive for Ecuador's independence. It also served as a site for geodetic measurements. The spring water used to bring the gin to bottling strength comes from the La Maná region in Cotopaxi.
