Special Features:

The Dalmore 17 is the first new release in the Principal Collection since 2022. It is also the oldest Dalmore expression in which the distillery showcases the combined influence of Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks. Around twelve years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks are followed by approximately five years in this trio of cask types.

Within the cask composition, Apostoles contributes structure and savoury, nutty depth. Matusalem adds richness and lingering sweetness, while Amoroso combines dry and sweet qualities with caramel, toasted nuts and delicate spice.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines Seville orange with ripe orchard fruit and woody spices.
• Palate: Poached pear, forest berries, sweet toffee and orange marmalade emerge on the palate.
• Finish: Orange with dark chocolate, dried fruit, cinnamon and nutmeg linger through the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Dalmore Distillery was founded by Sir Alexander Matheson in 1839 and stands in Alness on the shores of the Cromarty Firth, north of Inverness. Its stillhouse uses stills of different shapes and sizes, designed to produce a robust, deeply flavoured new make spirit. The distillery releases this 17-year-old single malt as an official bottling.
