Dalmore Port Wood Reserve

Special features: The Dalmore Port Wood Reserve is a masterfully crafted single malt Scotch whisky that matures in American white oak casks from former bourbon cask storage and is then refined in noble tawny port casks from the Douro Valley in Portugal. This double maturation gives it a complex depth and a rich flavor profile.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Alluring aromas of sweet red berries, juicy oranges, plums, and a hint of sticky toffee pudding.
  • Palate: A velvety body with notes of nectarines, creamy caramel, roasted chestnuts, and Java coffee.
  • Finish: A long, fruit-forward finish with rich plums, sultanas, sanguine blood oranges, and preserved cherries.

Distillery/Bottler: The Dalmore Distillery, founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson, is beautifully situated on the shores of the Cromarty Firth in the Scottish Highlands. It is known for its masterful craftsmanship and the production of whiskies that impress through innovative cask maturation and careful selection of ingredients.
