Special Features:

Bourbon cask maturation shapes Deanston 12 Year Old, whose creamy, malty-sweet style is preserved in the miniature. The distillery offers its twelve-year-old Single Malt in a small 0.05-litre bottle. Honey, vanilla and a spicy finish are the main flavour characteristics.

The whisky is bottled at 46.3%. Deanston avoids chill filtration, retaining the whisky's natural oils, and adds no colouring. The barley used is unpeated, and the Single Malt is not smoky. The miniature comes without gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, fresh summer hay and malty grain meet creamy toffee. Heather with honeyed notes, sweet oak and barley sugar add to the aromas.
• Palate: The whisky feels soft, creamy and sweet on the palate. Fruity nuances accompany malty, honey-led spice and gentle vanilla.
• Finish: The finish is clean and lively. A tingling clove spice lingers before gently fading.

Distillery/Bottler:

Deanston stands beside the River Teith. The distillery was established in 1966 in a former cotton mill whose history dates back to 1785. Whisky merchant Brodie Hepburn recognised the site's potential, with its water supply, water power and extensive buildings. Deanston still uses the river to generate electricity and feeds surplus energy into the public grid.

Deanston uses Scottish barley and water from the River Teith to make its whisky. The barley is milled on site, and the mash is processed in an open mash tun. Production includes fermentation lasting up to 100 hours and distillation in copper pot stills, with the separation of the spirit fractions controlled by hand. The former weaving sheds are used for cask storage. Alongside their flavour, a pronounced waxy texture is a characteristic feature of Deanston whiskies.
