Special Features:

A second maturation in Oloroso sherry casks shapes Doorly's XO. Produced at Foursquare Distillery on Barbados, the rum combines pot- and column-still distillates. Following its initial maturation in oak casks, it undergoes a final maturation in former sherry casks.

Its fruity character ranges from tropical notes to fried banana and raisins. Vanilla and a delicate walnut note complement the full-bodied flavour. The rum is bottled at 43%; this version contains a bottle holding 0.7 litres in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is pronounced yet soft. Fruity aromas with tropical hints meet a delicate sweetness.
• Palate: The rum is intense and full-bodied on the palate. Fried banana and vanilla sit alongside delicate notes of walnut and raisins.
• Finish: The finish remains soft and enveloping. The flavours linger slowly as the sweetness gradually fades.

Distillery/Bottler:

Foursquare is an independent, family-run rum distillery in Saint Philip on Barbados. Richard Seale represents the fourth generation continuing his family's rum-making tradition. By redesigning the stills in 1996, he further developed production on the site of a former 17th-century sugar factory.

Doorly's rums are made from fermented molasses. Distillation, maturation, blending and bottling all take place on Barbados. Foursquare combines copper pot stills with a twin-column still; bringing these two distillation methods together is part of the distillery's Barbadian rum style.
