Elsburn The Harz
Volume: 0.7 liters | Alcohol content: 46% | Non-chill-filtered | No coloring
Description
The Harz Mountains are not only home to the highest mountain range in Northern Germany, but since 2002 have also been a source of the finest single malt enjoyment. The Hercynian Distilling Co. is responsible for this. The family business produces an impressive range of Hercynian single malt whiskies by hand, always authentically, using traditional methods, long fermentation times, and a great passion for experimentation.
Now the distillery is presenting a new standard that combines its demands on whisky production with a fair price.
ElsBurn The Harz is distilled from 100 percent regional barley. Maturation in first and second fill sherry hogsheads, along with a small proportion of first fill bourbon barrels, emphasizes the distillery character of the single malt – even more so than in The Journey or the Distillery Edition.
At its ideal drinking strength of 46% ABV, The Harz unfolds notes of apricot, red berries, and tropical fruits with raisin, malt, and spicy oak, as well as creamy notes of vanilla, caramel, and light chocolate.
