Fercullen Single Grain Amarone Finish 0.7 l

Special features: The first part of the “Estate Series” from the Powerscourt Distillery, a limited Single Grain Whiskey that received an exclusive finish in Italian Amarone casks after the marriage of distillates from the years 2010 to 2012. The namesake “Mill House” is a historic mill building made of granite from the Wicklow Mountains, which today symbolically represents the connection between tradition and modern production. The finishing in Amarone casks lasted 18 months and gives the whiskey an extraordinary flavor dimension.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Spicy hints, vanilla, honey, paired with fresh notes of lemon, kiwi, and ripe peach, as well as a touch of cinnamon.
  • Palate: Soft texture with sweet honey and cinnamon, a fruity cocktail, and fine nuances of milk chocolate.
  • Finish: Long-lasting with a fruity sweetness and a subtly dry note.

Distillery/Bottler: The Powerscourt Distillery in Ireland uses spring water that once powered the historic mill of the “Mill House.” This water now forms the basis for the distillery's whiskeys. The malting and grinding of barley remains an important process step, which is now monitored with modern technology. Master Distiller Noel Sweeney brings his experience in combining traditional methods with innovative cask maturations to the Fercullen Single Grain Amarone Finish.
