These neutral German oak casks hold 1000 litres and bring together the Riesling's fruitiness and acidity with the botanical ingredients. Riesling and twelve botanicals form the base, including home-grown wormwood, lovage and crow garlic. The botanicals undergo cold maceration before being combined with the wine, whose residual sugar contributes to the sweetness.
Riesling from the Forstmeister Geltz-Zilliken wine estate and regional herbs and blossoms give this vermouth its fruity, floral and spicy character. Mineral notes and the bitterness of wormwood complement this combination. It works as an aperitif over ice or in a Martini with Ferdinand's Saar Dry Gin. The bottle contains 0.5 litres at 18% alcohol.

Their joint project connects the Saar's winemaking tradition with the work of Avadis Distillery in Wincheringen-Bilzingen. The Vallendar family has produced fruit spirits there for several generations; the estate was founded in 1824. After studying beverage technology, Andreas Vallendar founded Avadis Distillery and now runs a modern bonded distillery.
The brand takes its name from the Prussian forestry superintendent Ferdinand Geltz. The collaboration with the Zilliken wine estate brings Saar Riesling into the product family. In the White Vermouth, these wines meet regional botanicals and traditional maturation in Mosel Fuder casks.
