This single-cask bottling presents Fettercairn at unaltered cask strength: the Highland single malt was distilled in September 2007, matured for 15 years and was bottled by Hart Brothers in September 2022 at 55.9%. It is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Fresh orchard fruit and citrus define the aromatic profile. Vanilla and honeyed sweetness accompany ginger, black pepper and cloves, while toasted wood, dried fruit and a light herbal nuance shape the woody finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, lime and orange mingle with apple and pear; gentle spices, vanilla and a touch of ginger complement the fresh fruit.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied on the palate, combining citrus fruit with honeyed sweetness and spicy ginger. Black pepper, cloves and toasted wood add further depth.
• Finish: The finish is long, bringing together citrus notes, dried fruit and gentle oak, with light herbal aromas accompanying the final notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Fettercairn Distillery was opened by Sir Alexander Ramsay in 1824 at the foot of the Cairngorms. Since the mid-1950s, a copper ring has cooled the outside of the stills with water. This causes heavier compounds to condense inside, while predominantly lighter vapours rise for further processing.

The Hart family was already active in Paisley's hospitality trade in the late 19th century. Iain and Donald Hart founded Hart Brothers in 1964 as a wine and spirits wholesaler and Scotch whisky blender; Alistair Hart joined in 1975 and took charge of sourcing exceptional vintage casks. The company allows selected whiskies to mature further when needed and decides whether to bottle them as single casks after careful tasting. For this Fettercairn, Hart Brothers selected the whisky after 15 years of maturation and bottled it at cask strength in 2022.
