Special Features:

Maturation on both sides of the Atlantic shapes French West Indies VO. This Rhum Agricole is made in the French West Indies from fermented pure sugarcane juice and distilled in a traditional Creole column still. It then matures for at least three years in American oak under tropical conditions before travelling to Europe for further ageing. VO stands for Very Old.

Bottled in 2022, this release is number 54 in the Transcontinental Rum Line. It contains neither added sugar nor colouring and is offered at 46% alcohol in a 0.7-litre bottle. It comes in orange gift packaging featuring a ship motif. A fruity character also contributes to this rum's profile.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is fresh and herbaceous, with pronounced floral aromas and reduced sugarcane syrup.
• Palate: On the palate, it combines a delicate, spicy character with honey and pepper.
• Finish: The finish is long and gentle, with fine woody notes.

La Maison du Whisky created the Transcontinental Rum Line as an independent bottler. The series explores different rum origins and their respective production and maturation conditions. Its concept draws on the historical transport of rum between producing countries and Europe.

The series discloses origin, distillation methods and maturation details on its labels. For this release, they explicitly name the Creole column still and American oak. La Maison & Velier handles bottling; no sugar or colouring is added.
