Glasgow 1770 - 2015/2026 - 10 y.o. - Oloroso Sherry Butt #15/137 - Kirsch
Special features: The Glasgow Distillery Company, in operation since 2014, represents the first single malt distillery in Glasgow since 1902. This bottling is made from Scottish barley and uses water from Loch Katrine. The whisky matured for over 10 years in an Oloroso sherry cask, which gives it characteristic aromas. This whisky is bottled without chill filtration and coloring, supporting the purity of the taste.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose reveals ripe cherries and dried fruits, complemented by espresso and dark chocolate.
- Palate: On the palate, intense cherry flavors meet melting chocolate, accompanied by a fine espresso bitterness, creating a harmonious entry.
- Finish: The finish is long-lasting, with a distinctive note of black pepper.
Distillery/Bottler: The Glasgow Distillery Company exclusively produces single malt whisky and stands out for its use of Scottish barley and water from Loch Katrine. This whisky is part of a limited edition and will be bottled in 2026 at 46% vol. The origin and cask selection, made by Kirsch Import in 2015, play a crucial role in the quality of the final product. The unpeated production ensures a clear taste without overwhelming smokiness.
