Batch 01 brings together two double-distilled styles from Glasgow 1770. The contents of three unpeated and three peated casks were married in equal proportions. All the whisky matured exclusively in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels for at least eight years. The unpeated casks are numbered 17/264, 17/269 and 17/272, while the peated casks are 17/674, 17/676 and 17/699.
Highland peat was used for the peated component, and the malt has a phenol content of 50 ppm. This component contributes gentle, sweet smoke. Rich vanilla, floral honey, vibrant citrus fruit, buttery shortbread and tropical notes provide the fruity counterpoint.
The youngest cask was filled on 28 September 2017. After the whiskies were married on 12 September 2025, the whisky was bottled at 54% on 8 October 2025. The release comprises 1,400 bottles of 0.7 litres each; the whisky is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Liam Hughes and Mike Hayward founded The Glasgow Distillery Company in 2012 to bring single malt production back to Glasgow. The name Glasgow 1770 recalls the original Glasgow Distillery Company, which was founded in 1770 and produced unpeated, peated and triple-distilled single malt until it closed in 1902. The present-day distillery was established in a converted warehouse in Hillington on the outskirts of Glasgow and filled its first whisky cask in March 2015.
The stills Tara and Mhairi, installed in 2015, have capacities of 2,500 and 1500 litres respectively. Their compact shape enables extensive contact with copper, which contributes to the bright, fruity new make spirit. Batch 01 draws on two of the styles produced there through its peated and unpeated components. The Glasgow Distillery Company produces Glasgow 1770, its own single malt brand.
