Special features: The Glen Scotia Double Cask is produced in Scotland, in the Campbeltown region. This bottling first matures in first-fill bourbon casks and then undergoes a 12-month finishing in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This maturation process gives the whisky complex, spicy fruit notes and transports the typical maritime aromas of Glen Scotia. The product is offered in a gift packaging and is naturally colored as well as not chill-filtered.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose presents itself very sweet with caramel, toffee, fudge, and candied fruits. Additionally, apples and peaches can be recognized, with a slightly dry note coming through.
- Palate: On the palate, it shows a sweet and full texture, complemented by a dry distillery character and a hint of mint.
- Finish: The finish is deep and dark.
Distillery/Bottler: The Glen Scotia Distillery was founded in 1832 in Campbeltown and is one of the three still active distilleries in the region. The Glen Scotia Double Cask PX Sherry Casks Finish is made from first-fill bourbon casks and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
